Mathematics and Technical Department
The Mathematics and Technical Department of the Ministry is the newest department in the Ministry. It was carved out of the existing Applied Science and Technology Department. It was created to ensure provision and promotion of qualitative Mathematics and Technical education below tertiary level in Oyo State.
Objectives
The Department has 7 objectives:
Coordination and participation in annual National Competitions such as:
(i) Mathematics Association(MAN) Annual Competition
(ii) National Mathematical Centre (NMC) Annual Mathematics and Science Olympiad Competition
Coordinating the activities of Board for Technical and Vocational Education (BOTAVED).
Organizing workshop/Seminars for Secondary School Mathematics Teachers in the State.
Monitoring of teaching of Mathematics in all Secondary Schools in Oyo State.
Coordinating the Girl Child Mathematics Competitions among Junior Secondary School Students in the State.
